Bangladesh uncovered | 2025
When you think of Bangladesh, what comes to mind? Underdeveloped? Chaotic traffic? A land of endless garments factories? But wait—there is so much more to this vibrant, culturally rich, and breathtakingly beautiful country. The ‘Bangladesh Uncovered’ BaseCamp tour, curated in conjunction with our partners BoNY (Bengalis of New York), aims to shift these perceptions, offering a fresh perspective that will leave you in awe of what this hidden gem has to offer. From stunning natural landscapes to bustling urban experiences, Bangladesh is an unexpected treasure trove waiting to be explored. And if you’re from the diaspora, this is probably the first opportunity you’d have of experiencing the real Bangladesh without the prying eyes of familial connections.
Start your journey in Dhaka, the heart and soul of Bangladesh. This bustling capital city, known for its energy and vibrance, is a perfect blend of old-world charm and modernity. Explore historical landmarks, wander through the colorful local markets, and enjoy the eclectic street food scene that reflects Bangladesh’s rich culture. You haven’t ‘done’ Bangladesh unless you’ve savoured the insanely good Chotpoti and Fuchka, followed by Rasmalai!
Next, breathe in the lush beauty of Sylhet, home to rolling tea gardens and stunning waterfalls. This peaceful region is known for its verdant landscapes and serene atmosphere, offering a refreshing break from the city. You’ll be staying at one of the country’s premier Eco-resorts and chaperoned by the Illuminate Team.
Finally, unwind on the golden shores of Cox’s Bazar, the longest natural sea beach in the world. Here, you’ll be surrounded by the soothing sounds of the ocean, perfect for relaxation or fun-filled beach activities. Whether you’re looking to lounge by the waves, explore the local seafood cuisine, or immerse yourself in the vibrant nightlife, Cox’s Bazar offers it all.
The tour winds back to Dhaka for a couple of nights, where you’ll get to haggle at some markets and sample some of the city’s happening nightlife and events, before your flight out. This tour will leave you with unforgettable memories and a completely new perspective on Bangladesh. As you explore its cities and natural wonders, you’ll gain a deeper appreciation for the culture, warmth, and beauty of the country. This is more than just a vacation—it’s a journey of transformation, where you’ll see Bangladesh through new eyes and leave with a sense of connection and adventure.
This Bangladesh Uncovered tour also includes the option of attending our BD 2.0 Founders’ Camp splinter seminars, for people interested in investing or initiating Startups in this fast-developing economy. Come experience Bangladesh like never before, and let this tour change the way you see the world.
