We were thrilled to host a curated Dance GrowthCamp, a sensational journey that spanned three days in Dhaka, Bangladesh. People across the world joined us for this immersive experience, where they had the unique opportunity to refine their dance skills and discover their rhythm under the expert guidance of Prosenjit Guy Kundu.

Like our other Curated Retreats, this Dance GrowthCamp was designed to provide a holistic experience that nurtured both body and mind.

After the three days in Dhaka, participants continued the retreat with two magical days in the serene setting of Sylhet. We provided convenient transfers from Dhaka, comfortable accommodation, and tranquil yoga sessions to help everyone unwind and recharge.

Dhaka, Bangladesh’s bustling capital, is a vibrant blend of cultures, where tradition meets modernity. Its streets burst with color and life, with rickshaws weaving through traffic and tempting aromas of local cuisine filling the air. Skyscrapers and markets coexist, reflecting a city in constant motion and economic growth. Amid the bustling urban landscape, tranquil parks like Ramna Park provide moments of peace. The warmth of Dhaka’s people, its lively arts scene, and diverse culinary experiences make it a city of rich contrasts and unforgettable moments for visitors.

Sylhet 

An Eco – friendly Retreat in the Hills
Nestled amidst lush greenery, it offers a tranquil retreat where guests can unwind, surrounded by the beauty of the countryside. The resort’s cozy cottages and eco-friendly practices provide an eco-conscious and rejuvenating experience for nature enthusiasts. It is located about 40 km from the Bangladesh – Indian border of Tamabil – Dawki into Meghalaya, the foothills of the Himalayas.

 

About the Luminaries

Prosenjit Guy Kundu, a professional dancer since 1998, has immersed himself in the Underground Dance Scene for over 3 decades. With Indian and French roots, Prosenjit’s dance journey began in 1990 at 15 years old, discovering Hip Hop in Virginia. At 17, he fell in love with House dance at D.C.’s Tracks club. He earned a Bachelor’s degree in Dance and Choreography from Virginia Commonwealth University, mastering diverse styles including Ballet, Modern, Jazz, Tap, and African dances. By night, he explored Breakdancing, House, Hip Hop, Popping, and Locking. After formal education, he moved to NYC, teaching and dancing while refining his skills. Prosenjit’s talents have taken him globally, performing and teaching in Spain, England, Italy, Netherlands, Germany, France, Denmark, Korea, Taiwan, India, Nepal, Malaysia, Hong Kong, Sri Lanka, Canada, and the USA. His commitment to dance remains unwavering.

Seasons and best time to go

This Illuminate retreat is hosted 19-24 October 2023 but retreats of 3-4 nights can be booked – as long as there is a minimum of 8 people in the group – at other dates in the year for both GuruKool GrowthCamp and the Shuktara CalmCamp. If you don’t have 8 in your group, you can still register (minimum 2 people) and wait for us to market the dates and fill it up with other people.

The best times to visit Shukatara are from Novembe to February and between August and November.
